Compose
on the page — in our lives
An interactive, contemplative, guided writing group where we employ poetic composition as a doorway to ask the questions:
What does expression on the page teach us about composing a life?
What can poetry teach us about living well?
We will engage these questions by exploring themes of: coming to the desk and self, the blank page, waiting, attention, voice, silence, the body, home/place, naming, truth telling, grief, rest, witness, contradiction, revision, release and completion. This is a group not only for those who name themselves as writers. This is for anyone who is curious about what waits within them and who feels the stirrings and yearning to follow it onto the page. This is space for writing in whatever expression wants to emerge, fiction, prose, poetry, jottings and doodles on a napkin. All are welcome with anything they have to share.
